Fingers still crossed…

A little while ago I shared my emotions that my debut book Ryan’s Return was a FINALIST in Australia’s premier romance fiction awards.

I get to stay excited a little longer as the ROMANTIC BOOK OF THE YEAR (RuBY) awards will now be announced in December at the Gold Coast, after Covid-19 restrictions caused the postponement of the Romance Writers of Australia’s 30th anniversary conference.

Woodstove in country cottage with book displayed
My childhood best friend’s mum used to make lamingtons from cake cooked in a wood stove just like this in her farm kitchen. They were very tasty treats, just like Ryan’s Return…

Fans of my story about a secret billionaire and his second chance romance with his best friend’s sister in the Outback town of Granite Ridge, will have to wait a little longer to find out if Ryan’s Return is the winner in the novella category.

I’m still over the moon about being one of four finalists. I’ve been a finalist in a number of awards over the years (The First Kiss, The Valerie Parv Award, The Ripping Start among them) but to be a finalist in the Romantic Book of the Year, is definitely a moment I’ll cherish. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

In the meantime, I’ve finally published Ryan’s Return as a print book.

To celebrate, I’m giving away 5 copies and a little surprise (Australian residents only, sorry) to my newsletter subscribers.

And if you’ve read Ryan’s Return, I’d love it if you could leave a review on your favourite platform such as Amazon, Apple books, Kobo, Goodreads or Bookbub.

It helps other readers discover the story and is very helpful to a debut author like me.  If you do get around to it, drop me an email and I’ll send you a little surprise too.
