SARA'S ALWAYS BEEN A STORY-TELLER.

Sara Hartland grew up in a small country town with a pet sheep, five brothers and a book in her hand. She always knew she wanted to write for a living and was lucky to do that as a newspaper journalist in rural, regional and city Australia. Those country roots meant she often covered the “rural rounds” where Sara loved helping people share their stories about the issues and events that impacted their lives.

After dozens of country shows and local council meetings, she took to agri-politics, editing a state-based magazine for horticulture growers, helping that industry have a voice. But the passion to write fiction couldn’t be ignored and today Sara channels her empathy for getting to the heart of things into her fiction, creating worlds where ordinary people find extraordinary love, whatever their circumstances.

Sara's first book Ryan’s Return, was a finalist in the 2021 Romantic Book of the Year (RUBY) awards by Romance Writers of Australia.  It's a heartwarming and hot second chance romance set in the fictional Outback town of Granite Ridge.

Since then she's published novella and short story length tales in numerous anthologies, including My True Love Gave to Me sweet and swoony Christmas anthology inspired by The Twelve Days of Christmas carol, and Love for Maui charity anthology.

RECENT REVIEWS

Sara's writing gives me tingles! Characters so three dimensional I want to introduce myself, and romance so real I never want the story to end.

Fireworks explode when a chance encounter on New Year’s Eve leads a rugged country boy to a beautiful doctor. I loved this beautifully written short story where the hero reconnected with a woman from his past when the timing was finally perfect for both of them.

Love this story! How Sara manages to fit so much of her character on the page and in such a short story is fabulous. Looking for more from this author. 5 stars.
