The hero of my short story His New Year’s Wish is a rugged and sexy outback cattleman. Sure, if you’ve seen the cover, you’ll already know Seth’s got brooding good looks to swoon over, but he’s also got grit. He’s the guy you want at your side in a crisis.
But he’s got his softer side — he’d do just about anything for his sister, or to put a smile on his mother’s face.
If that means driving six hours to the city and swapping his jeans for a tux to go to a ball, where he might just run into the love of his life, he’s man enough to accept that challenge.
So in the spirit of looking after mums and their happiness, I’m delighted to be sharing His New Year’s Wish alongside a swag of other fantastic free romance reads, to honour Mother’s Day, celebrated in Australia on May 10 this year.
I’ll be emailing out a mini newsletter with links to a swag full of romance reads in every possible genre, with something for everyone. If you haven’t already signed up, now is the time. It’ll be worth clicking on the link just to enjoy looking at the covers, trust me.
And if you’re glum because Mother’s Day this year means being apart from loved ones, I hear you. My own precious mum is only a few hours drive away, but across a state border, so we’ll be settling for a phone or live video chat, which often includes latest book recommendations, and the promise of better days to come.
After that, I’ll be hugging my kids (thank you Covid-19, it’s not all bad) and then snuggling into a cosy chair while I get lost in a new story (or ten).
Happy Mother’s Day and happy reading,
Sara
