Exciting times, no?

How’s your year going?

This is the year of getting organised. I may have said that before but I’m saying it all year long in 2020 because there is power in your words and in making public commitments.

But then the plague happened – and sideswiped my good intentions.

No sooner had I given a five-star rating to the short course Workflow, Time Management and Productivity for Creatives (genuinely enjoying my Creative Live app) than I started panicking that I’m not a panicker but I can’t find toilet paper anywhere. I have forgotten literally everything I just learned.

My brain is hooked on swinging wildly from “I need to use this time to embrace healthy habits that will stave off dementia” and “It’s five o’clock, made it, why is last night’s bottle nearly empty and who ate the brie”.

But today my family are safe and well and I’m working on my positive mental attitude. So, I’ll just schedule a time to do a refresher (because scheduling my time is a thing I can do now, ha!) and get with writing the best stories I can.

Right now I’m also working with Author Code who are building me a fresh and fabulous new websites, my writing group are steaming ahead with plans to publish our anthology of novellas mid-year, and soon I’ll be sharing teasers about all the delicious stories inside.

I’ve finalised the Romance Writers of Australia First
Kiss 2020 contest as coordinator (winners to be announced soon), worked with the very patient and talented Louisa West from Author Code
to update my website (so pretty now!) and watched in
awe as Jo Baker from Exposed Publishing created book
covers that are so swoony I may have lost focus for a
minute. You’ve seen there here first and I’ll be sharing more about them in coming days because I’m so excited about these stories.

Because life goes on, because this too shall pass, and because romance makes a difference in good times and in bad.

Which is why I’m making damn sure I schedule reading time too. How about you?

Love my hammock and losing myself in a new story, mine or someone else’s.
